How to Play Tic Tac Toe
Tic Tac Toe (also known as Noughts and Crosses) is a classic two-player game played on a 3x3 grid. The rules are incredibly simple, making it a perfect quick game to pass the time:
- The game is played on a grid that's 3 squares by 3 squares.
- You are X, your friend (or you playing the other side) is O. Players take turns putting their marks in empty squares.
- The first player to get 3 of her marks in a row (up, down, across, or diagonally) is the winner.
- When all 9 squares are full, the game is over. If no player has 3 marks in a row, the game ends in a tie.
Is it possible to always win at Tic Tac Toe?
If both players play optimally, a game of Tic Tac Toe will always end in a draw. However, if your opponent makes a mistake, you can capitalize on it. The best strategy is to control the center square first, or if that is taken, control the corners. Doing so opens up multiple attacking lines and makes it harder for the opponent to block you.

only clears the current board to start a new round.
